bookshelf inspiration

These are our built-in bookshelves, which I love, but am having a hard time getting to look right. The shelves are deep, which leaves a lot of space to fill, and makes my book collection look minuscule. I'm in need of inspiration for sprucing them up.

I can't get enough.

ez

After seeing Jeannie's fabulous Eva Zeisel prints, I had to learn more about the 104 year old artist.

And, I had to have something Eva for our house.

"I didn't accept the purism of modern design. In my definition, if it gave beauty to the eye, it was beauty." - Eva Zeisel

Checkout the reusable sandwich & snack bags from LunchSkins!

A much greener alternative to those nasty ziplock bags. And, prettier too! Yum!

house crashing

I received an email from my good friend Jeannie with photos of her recently spruced-up office & couldn't resist sharing.

Art: Limited Edition Eva Zeisel Lovers' II Prints (wow)
Cabinet: Ikea (nice contrast & lots of storage)
Chairs: Limited Edition Carl Wegner Wishbone Chair (to-die)
Paint: I need to know so I can paint my walls this color
Adorable pup: Ginger (so cute!)

It goes without saying that the rest of Jeannie's home is equally as amazing & includes the rest of an unbelievable art & furniture collection.

And, this guy! Boomer wanted to say hello too.

Thanks for letting us crash, Jeannie!

duh

After weeks and months of wondering what to hang in the bathroom other than art, I come across this photo (via Decorpad) & a light bulb goes off in my head - shelves! Um, hello. I love the idea of floating shelves above the toilette.

die.

Always one of my favorites, Chris Benz does it again with his Spring collection, inspired by an American in Paris, circa 1960s.
