I wasn't as good about taking photos this time as I was last trip, but that was because Mamaw & I were too busy having fun. We made our spaghetti, watched movies, went to the museum, visited family, shopped, read poetry, and found treasures in the used bookstore. And, it snowed! A light dusting that made everything look pretty, but didn't stop us from gallivanting around town.
The classic and versatile button-up is an essential part of every gal's wardrobe, which is why finding a reliable source for said button-up is also essential.
We all have our go-to places for must-have items such as this, but for years I found myself flailing around without a dependable source for button-ups. That is, until Boden came into my life.
The UK based company has restored my faith in still being able to purchase well-made, quality pieces in the mid-level price range. The fit, feel, and grade of the fabrics are fantastic. And, the attention to detail is exquisite; grosgrain trim, princess seams, and contrast color button holes - oh my! Not to mention the variety of fabulous prints & colors.
Society for Rational Dress was my favorite! I could not get enough of the chain collar and vest detail paired with beautiful knits.
Besides getting to see the shows, there was also plenty of people watching to do.
My pick for best dressed was the lovely look in the middle. It's too bad you can't see the full ensemble here, but it was a classically chic, vintage inspired look that was pure perfection from head to toe.
Btw, I just discovered FW tickets are available for purchase through BoxEight. An anxiety attack has ensued....I never knew this was possible. My life has changed forever. It may not be Bryant Park, but it's something.
Has the recession got you down? Does the word "budget" not fit into your vocabulary? Are you willing to brown bag your lunches and cancel the cable before ever having to think twice about buying the next adorable top that makes you swoon? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then we should be friends!
Although we hate the thought of shopping on a budget (bleck!) or the possibility of having to pass-up our next great find, we LOVE finding fantastic pieces at good prices & then bragging about how much we saved. Now don't get me wrong, this dosen't pertain to just any old item in the bargain bin. It's the quality pieces at reasonable prices that make our hearts race and our palms sweat. So, this "Steals & Deals" post and new Seams of Thought feature is dedicated to my fellow fashionistas who would rather starve (well, not really...) than limit our wardrobes. And, who know a good deal when they see one.
The first Steals & Deals addition, dedicated to spring treasures, is coming soon!
