Dreaming of the warm sun & Marc Jacobs.
Taken by The Sartorialist oustide of the NYFW tents last Thursday.

The long-awaited Marc Jacobs show has come and gone & I am left feeling a bit sleepy. Although I love the knits, subdued hues, and wide-whale corduroy pants (so cool), I'm missing that heart flutter that M.J.'s collections usually bring. All that waiting & I'm left without.
Ports 1961 presented a lovely collection at NYFW that included an abundance of faux fur (imagine that). Hats off to Ports!
In a previous post on 2/3 (which has now been corrected), I stated that the above heavenly coat dress from Earth Pledge's Future Fashion show was a Diane von Furstenberg creation. Well, I was so wrong. This fabulous piece was designed by the equally fabulous Duro Olowu. My deepest apologies to Mr. Olowu. Nigerian-born & currently based in London, Olowu's designs are unique & oh so lust-worthy. While he's not on the line-up for NY fashion week, I believe he will be showing in London later this month. Checkout his Spring 2008 collection here.
At last, style.com has posted more photos from the Earth Pledge Future Fashion show, so I had to share.......
Above: Natasha Poly in all black by Givenchy. Love it.
Above: Suvi Koponen in a mighty fine shift & plenty of fabric beads, by Marni.
Above: Jessica Stam in a pretty little frock by Rodarte.
Above: Bruna Tenorio in a beautiful gown by Martin Grant.

Diane von Furstenberg presented an exciting collection of pieces inspired by the charm of the 1940's (my absolute favorite era). Without a wrap dress in sight, the DvF signature prints, chunky cardigans, and beautifully cinched waists made for another fine strut down the runway for "Dee-ahn". She never fails to impress.
I love Charles Nolan's collection because it gives a bold flair to classic pieces. The fabrics and color pallet are divine along with the flouncy bows and belted waists. Not a designer I've watched in the past, but now he's on my radar.
